*Durban's night life on the move*

Having overcome the anxieties built within every inch of my breathing, living cell as to whether or not Friday evening was going to spent in a miserable state at work or whether it were to be spent with my ghd-perfectly-straightened hair, flapping in the wind, on the top of the Ricksha bus, the verdict was- the Ricksha bus.

Fortunately one of the previous managers so kindly accepted the request and worked for me on Friday evening, thus enabling me to experience the 'scenic views' of our deserted Durban streets, viewed from above, experience the intensities of the crowd's excitment and anticipation of Waxy's and Frankie's as well as take the opportunity to chuckle at Kevin's delightful drunken state (and many others of course).

To add to the amusement of the roaring anthems, the swinging-pole moves, the observing spectators (of whom were scratching in the bins at the time) and the inadequate bus, of which could not make it up hill, it is needless to say that we all managed to have an awesome time.
Considering the crowd was of unfamiliarity in the beginning stages of the evening, this was soon solved by the end of the evening via a numerous amount of drinks. I however was not in the position to drink, as i had to be the one to drive home, and my brother was in no state to hit the wheel.

The bus, arrived back at Joes Kools, which was greeted by a number of overly-intoxicated people staggering up the stairs. The rest of the evening spent at joe's was really great and so the evening was concluded with more drinks and more photos. My brother and i departed the rather distraught and destructed beaches of Durban at approximately 1:00am (not too bad, but it felt like it was 3:00am).

Saterday morning approached too quickly , as i again made my way to the Pavillion, buying a number of accessories, including a new watch.
Having arrived back at my house, early afternoon, it was time for me to get ready for the rugby (sharks vs. brumbies @ ABSA stadium)

Sitting two rows from the field, Carla, her friend-Jodi and myself were ready for the game, tickets in hand. To my surprise, that potentially-hot-friend of mine was sitting on the field throughout the game, with one of those yellow bib things on. Having smsed him and asking whetehr or not it was him, he responded saying that he was sitting on the field. We then met up at the end of the game and chatted for a while. All's cool between us.. Thank goodness*

Anyway, despite the dissapointing thrashing of the Brumbies, i had intentions to learn for this test (monday) this weekend, however nothing has been done about it and there are like 10chapters to learn. So a let evening was not even an option:(

The evening was then concluded having dinner at my aunts house after the rugby at 8:30pm, of where i met my parents. So after all that, the evening presented as being a late one.
Sunday was merely spent slaving away at the books for my test, half of which wasn't even present in the test may i add:/

Well.. that's it to my weekend. My predictions for the weekend were pretty accurate hey?
Anyway.. i'm buggard and off to bed now!

What a dilemma..

Well... this absolutely sucks...
Looks like my chances of geting off tonight are slim.
But i'm pushing on...

At the moment i'm sitting in front of the computer and waiting to leave for my 11:25am lecture.
I always tend to rock up late for this lecture though.

Anyway, i have nothing else to say except HAPPY BIRTHDAY to li'l Kev who has now turned 24. (was i suppose to keep that part discrete?) and hey hey to Carla of whom i'm spending saterday evening screaming and shouting in the ABSA rugby stands with.
Hope it's still on hun! I still reckon we hit Joes or 80's or summin afterwards but that's your call!

Now i'm trying to get hold of this other chick that will apparently consider working for me, but her phones with some other dude, of which only sees her this afternoon... aaargh... the frustration!

Anyway.. wil chat later and keep you updated! I'm gonna go make some coffee to calm my nerves.....or not:)

I thought i was special (tear)

What a bummer.. I thought i was special....

I've come to the conclusion that my attempted originality of posting Durban's pictures was not as sucessful as expected. Looking at a number of blogs and emails, it appears to me that i'm a little, let's just say behind with my posts. By the time the thought processing actually begins in my head about posting a gallery of natures effect on Durban, somebody has already kindly posted them for me on their sights. Well.. at least i can say i tried hey:)

Moving on.. i haven't kept many of you updated with my life at the moment?\
What can i say... life has been really hectic with varsity and all that my 'time out' is actually none existant at the moment and my 'fun evenings' are not even in my vocab at this moment in time.

I will however be heading to Kev's birthday celebration tomorow evening on the Ricksha bus around Durbs. It's a combined birthday held by three of them. Saterday il be venturing to the Sharks vs. Brumbies game, held at the ABSA stadium once again, where i will be screaming like a nut. Saterday day, i'm assuming will be spent at the Pavillion, scratching the pennies once again (what there is left of my burnt wallet). Sunday i'm going to make an attempt to crawl outta bed and waddle to church in the morning. If that doesn't succeed, i'l try the evening, as i always tend to enjoy the evening services.

Well... that's if all goes according to plan. Remember work? Well, they've been a little, let's just say 'leniant' and are allowing me to take off work in order to attend Splashy. (Can you believe i'm only the frikkin hostess and i actually need permission) Now the problem arises where a replacement is required for tomorow evening as i want to attend Kev's birthday, but due to not having another hostess (present in Durban this time), i may not be able to get off after all.. Hold thumbs for me and wish me luck- Luck for:

1. Getting a replacement or

2. Not getting fired for not finding a replacement and simply not showing up at work.

Will keep you updated but for now.. i know i have stax of work to get through and there's no way i'm doing any of it this weekend! Actually.. that reminds me about an Aural rehab test i have this weekend...aaargh... Ok.. Sunday night, late night cramming here we come. I tend to do better under these conditions funny enough. No one-week-in-advance story for me..Never works. Two weeks of slaving away at the books until Splashy and Easter break!

Two friends of mine (yes i tend to have more than the usual rent-a-crowd), are down from England. Man we use to have such jols together. Not only did they work with me when i was still a waitor, but we familiarised ourselves more with the Durban night life. We killed Tiger! Actually... we slaughtered it because we were there so much! Man does that place hold so many memories!

I still remember one fine evening, a couple of the guys a little to the extremes of intoxication and the girls headed down to North beach pier. Simple. Guys strip, guys jump, guys frolik in the waves and gasp for air as they try to maintain sanity. Guys get out of the water. One appearing to be a little more intoxicated than the other just struts but naked back onto the pier. Girls start blushing and threatening to chuck the clothes in the water. Overly intoxicated makes a second attempt and leaps again, being carried back to shore. The other became a little more sober as he hit the water, only then realising where he is and what he had just done. By this stage, he was in a little state of panic but managed to remain discreet as he merely laughed the situation off, as he gasped and choked for air. Ok so he made it back to shore, but i don't know how much money one will be willing to pay before he does that again:)

Anyway... this is it from me for now.
It's not very long or interseting, but hey.. it kept you going didn't it?
Will keep you updated soon soon! If i haven't replied, it's only because i didn't go to work and ended up going to the birthday most probably. But if i reply.... it's probably because i can't get to sleep after the birthday:) (NO WAY am i workin:)

See ya...

Hurricanes hit Durban

Ok.. apart from having an absolutely amazing winning at the durban ABSA stadium, sharks vs. the Hurricanes game on Saterday, it was amazing to see what else has been happening in and across Durbs lately...
Check this out...

These are pictures of central Durban.. how amazing!

anyway.. this particular storm occured on Thursday evening roughly 10:00pm, as i was driving through the Waterfall sugarcane.

There were a number of reported power failures including Waterfall, Kloof and parts of Hillcrest. Driving thorugh Waterfall sugarcane wasn't a thrill at the time, considering there was no sign of any lights whatsoever! Not even candlelight! Apparently it had just occured. I arrived home and was rather apprehensive to walk from my garage to my front door as knowing my luck, the gale force wind, lightening and gushing rain would leave me stumbling around in the garden, drenched from head to toe, with have a number of electric bolts running through every system of my body at the same time.

So after some contemplation,i came to the conclusion of 'What the hell..' and i just galloped and leaped across every bush flung in my pathway. Murphy's law..(whoever the hell Murphy is?) we had put a gate and fence up beween the front door and the driveway in order to keep the dogs back. To unlatch this thing was beyond me. Managing to run into the front door.. yes thats it... INTO the front door.. i managed to regain my thoughts, open the door, only to find everybody scratching for candles.

anyway.. the next morning, the area was in a state and there were more trees uprooted than rooted. And that's my little say about my experience.

will add in a little more on my weekend tomorrow, as i am so far behind with my blog...
DEAL WITH IT!
Sweet dreams*

Splashy....it's happpening!!

G'day my brothers and sisters! Before i begin my late evening blog, may i just add that life has been a little on the busy side, so much that i feel as though my head's been catapulted, whilst my body is left behind... Not a good feeling!
Well my friends and family, looks like Splashy is happening for me and i think that's where im gonna be spending my days of the Easter holiday, from the 5th to the 9th April. What swayed me in the direction further, was that i actuallly, for once in my entire manage to get off these days without any fighting and tears. (Not that there were any tears:)
Well, at the moment, work is rashing me because our other hostess (Roxy) is in Jo burg and because they got nothing better to do than to pick on the hostesss. Meantime, all she gets paid for is too stand and smile at people:) - referring to myself of course!
May i just add that i have SO much holiday work that i actually don't know where to begin or even think about it!
Anyway, nothing much has been happening my side of the world. I attended a 21st tonight- couple friends from school . Was a bit apprenhensive to go as you tend to dress to impress with your old friends. I've kinda got over that stage and i think they all have but it was an issue at school.Anyway, our group consisted of about 12 girls annd obviously included the boyfriends. Don't you find it amusing how everybody is 'friends' meantime they've hardly spoken to each other? Well, in this particular example, where ther is a large group, you may only be a friend, because you have your connections in the group, but the others are just there to be seen as your 'friends'. Understand?
Anyway, tonight surprised me a little as i was originally apprehensive to go, expecting everyone dressed to impress and slapping onn their fae smiles, tey once presented in high school.
Man.. the evening turned out to be so pleasant and it's amazing to idenntify how everybody has changed and matured through life! They really are a stunning group of girls and i really do miss them!
Anyway, having to work, i ricked up at the braai at about 10:00 and acknowedged everybody at the braai and caught up on a lot of news. A lot of them had come from Maritzberg for the weekend to spend it with the twins (birthday), which was really awesome to see!
and obviously a lot of them bought their boyfriends as well. It was a braai, chilled and layback 21st which was amazing, considering everyonne was tired and exhausted from their 'Maritzberg hangovers:)'
Considering i had come striaght from work, i was ready to leave the braai, which was roughly 12:00 and headed on home.
I'm really keen to go to rugby tomorrow but lacking a bit in the pennies! How much does that suck!
chat tomorow though!

Up for a cocktail???

Whatsup guys..

This is gonna be a short post- sorry.. Sat here writing a HUGE post on summinn good and meaty and then... my computer shut off:(
The frustration! Ok... ya soo many of you have warned me but what is it they say about learning from your own mistakes:)
Don't worry guys, il catch up that post tomorrow!

The week has been one huge spin and as much as they tell me i shouldn't, i'm wishing the days away and praying for weekends to approach:)

Today was hectic but all was topped off well with a couple friends from school and myself heading to Frankies- Hillcrest. (we heard it was ladies night on a tuesday and everything was half price, with a free cocktail?)
Well.... ya...we looked like idiots as there wasn't any ladies evening and we moved on to BanKok Wok-Hillcrest. The evening was spent with five of us - Steph, Lindi, Bodene, Gill and myself haaving dinner and cocktails. My friend Bodene made quite a fuss as she 'could not' eat chinese food or Japanese food whatsoever ( considering we were at a Thai restaurant?)
So she kinda sulked and mooaned that we weren't spending the evening at Frankies, however overcame her morbid, attitudes as she realised noone of us really cared:)
She requested if she was able to order from Frankies and eat in the restaurant (some are fussy with this idea). The waitor was all cool about it and even served it on a plate for her and presented the bill to her as if it were his own order.
So he got like an overboard tip from us but Bodene really made us chuckle throughout the whole evening:)

Anyway, bankok wok's ladies evening was half price on any mainn meal and hlf price cocktails.
I ordered a Beach Garden Salad, which was spinach (appeeared like crisps and was crunchy), grilled calamari, one or two 'prawns' aand a little bit of veg. it was actually awesome. i wasn't so hungry sso it was a nice light, yet substantial salad. I then had a Cosmopolitan which was also amazing.

bodene wanted to go across to Frankies for a longer evenig, however the rest of us decided to keep it early, considering we had come straight from varsity and we were poked!!
So we kind of swayed her otherwise! Besides, Frankies was actually pretty quite.

Well.. gotta sleep now!
Mwah* Chat in tomorrows blog!

You're an FHM model???

Ok, ok so i been slacking off lately, but with good reasoning! Let me just say i been real...busy...

Before i beginn my weekend's itinerary, may i just warn you that my eyelids are hanging at my knees at the moment from tiredness and therefore this may have an effect on both my spelling and grammar.

Anyway, my weekend all began, meeting carla for an afternoon coffee, before getting ready to go to work. To cut a long story short, work was so so busy and the que only managed to die down at about 9:00pm. The reason why i told you that 'useless' piece of information is merely based on the fact that i had every intention of clocking out early and gracing Casablanca with my presence. Previously, before work, my evening 'plot' waas to escape work at about 8:30, giving me sufficient time to fly home aand make myself loook a little bit more approachable. The plan failed. Not the 'make-myself-look-a-little-bit-more-approachable-part' (hehe), but the plnn of getting out aat 8:30. Aaargh.. the people just kept on flocking through the doors! Aaargh..
tick tock...tick tock... As the second hand passes, so does the number of people. And of course, being the hostess, i get paid to be polite and smile at everyone (meantime, inside, i was cursing every onne of them- only kidding- i'm not that mean:)

Well, plans were made and rearranged in every possible way. Instead of having to drive down with my brother, it ended up being just girls-awesome.
Aaargh... eventually, we only ennded up arriving there at about 10:30pm (i think)
Anyway, casablanca was having a Millers party so it was pretty busy and the crowd there was awesome. Having not been at Casablanca for a while, it was a really cool evening, with majority of the crowd coming from Tiger! That's what made it so cool... ah... the goood old days of Tiger!

Anyway, having gone to the bathroom, this girl approached me and started chatting to me, providing me with tips on how to do hair etc.

"Darling, i'm an FHM model annd i work for FHM!"

I scann her up and down subtly....hesitate.... (Ok whatever) and reply..."is it?"
Anyway, she's trying to give me tips and talking about absolute rubbish!
How did i know she was lying? Well, her friend approaches both of us and says,
"My friend here works for Cosmopolitan!" So i just smile and say..."oh cool":)

Well, the music ws awesome so i decide to go listen to the beats and swing my hips to the rythem (kiddin). I was greeted by a lot of familiar faces annd generally the crowd was awesome! I even ran into one oof the guys i worked with at the A1 grand prix. What makes it so funny is that this guy absolutley adores himself and he can just sweep girls off their feet (and he knows it). I however have prior knoweldge about this fellowed boy because of my friend Teri. She tends to tell me his pick-up lines and his scheme of action. It's so amuzing watching him pick up a girl. Look, he's not that bad, but he aint anything amazing. He's actually a hillarious guy to be around! The evening in general was loads of fun and considering i haven't been there foor a while, i'll definately go back again soon.

Anyway.. moving on in the weekend, i woke up for an early visit at the pavilion( again)!
This time i hadn't walked away with any clothes or anything, except for a birthday present. This kind of shows a clear indication of how well i manage my money throughout the month!
Anyway, i ended up going to a birthday braai at abou two where i kind of met up with a lot of people i haadn'y seen in ages.

The evening, was spent mellow and the WHOLE of Sunday consisted of me working on an assignment for varsity which was so annoying!
So i'm off to bed, otherwise i'll never make it through tomoro!
Will keep you updated!

Going local...

Varsity turned out to be a taste like heaven yesterday as the hours were short and i managed to leave at like 12:15. Anyway, the first priority was to get my sound put into the car, so this onnly took about half an hour or so as, it was only the speakers that had to put in. I must say, Car Audio in Pinetown was so welcoming and helpful. I was seated with a cup of coffee and a magazine, giving me an opportunity to breath and unwind from two tripple lectures.
The car was finished before i had even finished my coffee.
After having stopped off at Tiffany's in kloof and purchasing a top and a bag, i mad my way home.

The evening was enjoyed with a few friends at Frankie Bananas in Hillcrest. Wednesday nights appears to be the pumping night and the evening by which one is able to identify every second person walking past. Overall the place was great, the vibe was awesome and the crowd was amazing.

We eventually ended up moving across to Scaramouch to see how the evening was kicking off there. I wasn't fanatical with the d.J or the music he was playing and eventually i was ready to call it an evening. We left the joint at about 12:30 so it wasn't too much of a late evening.

waking up this morning as a little more than challenging as i was running late for varsity. I only had like half an hour to get ready. (ya so i guess for males it's sufficient but females- a little challenging) Anyway, We had to do testing on a child with cerebral palsy today which was the greatest challenge of all, but such an eyeopener.

After having crashed on my bed after arriving back froom varsity, i crashed on my bed. I set my alarm as i had intentions of waking up, and giving me sufficient time to get ready. Again, i must've switched it off or something as i was running late for work. Againn i only had like half an hour to get ready.

Anyway.. sorry this is a little bit of a bore and the content is noot very intriguiging but at the moment my mind is not co operating due to lack of sleep.
I will post abetter blog soon tho.
Tomorrow i should be going to casablanca which is to be really cool!

Chat soon*

On the road again...

Another day and time just feels like it's flying way over my head sometimes!
It's funny though how the weekdays usually drag on, yet the weekends become oblivious to us.

Well, im writing this as the clock ticks further and further, to time wasted where i should be in bed now, preparing myself for another fully loaded day at varsity. Instead i resort to my burning desires of having to write in my blog for the evening, so bare with me if this post may appear to be full of grammar or spelling errors. (kev i suggest you avoid reading just this post as this may result in the following side affects such as frustration or innapropriate behaviour or language on your behalf:)

Moving on.. I think i've finally come to the conclusion that because Splashy has always been pushed aside at the back of my mind for the last how many years, it's time for me to bring that mouldy and dusty idea right out of the cupboard again and actually contemplate goin. So this is it.. i think i'm going. I was suppose to do promotions there but i've thought otherwise.

Today consisted of a rather different day. Our prac was to visit the Fulton School for the Deaf in Hillcrest, for one of our lectures. It was a real eye opener for me but i'm not going to go much further into that as i've had to have written reports etc. and i don't see any reason as to why i would regurgitate this information and experiences back to you, unless you would request for me to. But overall.. it's amazing to see how this school differs fropm any other school in the way they communicate etc.

Having arrived back at the Westville campus it was time for me to depart to our speech clinic at the William clarke's children''s home. By the end of the session, i was buggard for the day!
Now i sit here writing reports until it comes out of my ears. But never fear as tomorrow looks like a more promising day and i think we'll be finishing varsity at 12:30

Fpor now i have to say fairwell and i'l chat again tomorrow. Sorry for the short post but il make it up to you guys!

You're Jonothan, right???

ok.. so my cut off for the weekennd posts was Friday evening at the very well known local jol Scaramouch... boo ha ha... what an enjoyable evening!

Moving on... Saterday has now become a ritual with my mother and myself, it appears. Pavillion has become the new destination. However instead of being the usual casual shopper whereby one would merely slip in and out of the shops, we tend to differ. Having arrived at 9:30 and only leaving at 3:45, we must've become recognizable to many of the shop owners and shoppers flooding through the doors like vultures on a feeding ground.
After the hustle and bustle of the crowds and having everybody eye the top in your hand, thinking it would look better on them, i managed to slip away with two tops, a dress and a ring.
This choice of clothing was to my surprise, as many of you may know that i hardly wear any dresses, however having tried it on, i managed to fall in love at first sight.

Anyway.. after arriving home from the Pavillion, it was time for me to get ready for a 21st.
Keeping in mind i had no idea who this guy was, i tried to dress appropriately and not look like a prostitute being dragged out of a bush backwards. Not that i ever do. I hope.
Roxy made a request that i join her for the 21st as she only knew Jonothan (the guy that turned 21). So of course i approved of her suggestion and made an appearance. It turned out to be a really amazing evening and i managed to meet a really awesome crowd of people.
After having hugged and kissed everyone goodbye, we hopped into the car and headed for Lazy Lizzard- Hillcrest.

We arrived at Lazy's after twelve and again, the crowd was most appealing. The atmosphere was awesome and the music pumping upstairs attracted us. The music mainly consisted of trance, which was different to my general taste in music, however i managed to adapt to the variations and have a good time. It was awesome to greet a number of regulars annd d.j's at Lazy's and made the evening overall fun.
We eventually ended up leaving at roughly 2:00am and man, were we overboard tired!

After having trying to direct my way to the door (due too lack of light) i managed to crash on my bed and fall in a state of deep sleep.

Sunday was a generally lazy day which was awesome as i havenn't had any of these Sunday's since i started varsity.
Today was another Monday i wasn't ready to tackle, due to my lack of sleep or motivation.
The hours were long and the lectures were too mentally stimulating for my own good.
I think i've only worn my hearing aid once and it's suppose to be handed back on Wednesday. By then, we're suppose to have a general view of what it's like to be in the shoes of a deaf person.
Im gonna have to wear it a hell of a lot these nex two days!
Anyway.. i managed to go to spinning tonight and round off the session with a bit of the circuit.

Anyway.. i'm in deep contemplation as to whether or not Splashy will be the next destination for my April holidays? To be honest with you, i was so keen but i've lost a little bit of interest and motivation. Maybe i'm a little too comfortable with my clean shower and hairstraightner:)
I dunno guys... what do you think? Should i go or shouldn't i?
Gimme some input please!

For now i'm gonna run before i fall asleep before i even start varsity work:(
Hope to hear from you guys!

A kiss or two...

Hey whatsup!

Ok so today proceeded with me rolling out of bed, and cleaning up after the puppy. Man what it is to be a mother:) It certainly felt like it...

Moving on. The first lecture took place at 11:25. As always, we appeared to be alittle late for lecture. They honestly cannot expect us to be there at sparrows fart!
the lecture proceeded with a video, of which became my invitation to take a quick nap. Or at least i tried! It was terrible having to keep my eyes open, once the lights were dimmed.
Ever sat through one of those REALLY REALLY boring church sermons before where your eyelids are hanging at your knees? (No disrespect, but i'm sure many of you may jhave experienced this)

Escaping varsity and fleeing passed the security gates became a pathway to heaven!
Before i knew it, it was time for me to head for work. After having fetched the dogs from chasing the poor postman, i climbed into the car and rocked up at work. Work was an overall bore but what the hell...

Scaramouch was next. Roxy and i headed off there at about 10:00, where we first indulged in a Savannah with a slice of lemon. After scanning the place and slapping on the makeup, the beats of the music were calling us to dance.
Throwing our hands up in the air and singing to the words of the song (and watching those who mimed the words they don't really know) made the evening fly by.
We met up with an old friend and his brother. The whole evening consisted of us dancing and leaping across the dance floor with them and being thrown to the other side of the dance floor, making us look like pros:) We were really cool... Only kidding:)
Anyway, it just so happened that i ended up dancing with our friend and Roxy with the brother.
It was all outta innocence, as we've known each other for a while. Well, that's what i thought.
At least i know i've kinda stuck to my word in the previous posts.

This friend tried to kiss me three times. What happened? Well ya.. i wasn't really up for it hey...
Not cause i wasn't really keen for him anything but as i mentioned in previous posts, i won't just kiss someone spontaneously in that sort of environment. Ok so obviously i'm gonna have my exceptions, but it just wasn't goonna happen tonight. He was cool about it though as i think he eventually realised and after that it was jcool to just dance and jol together.. Anyway, he walked me to my car and said our fairwells. But, i'm really not keen hey. He's just a friend and i think knowing him as just that makes it kinda weird.

That's my news for today my friends! Im really really really hoping to go to the rugby tomorrow Sharks vs Crusaders. I doo have a 21st after that though so i'll let you know what my plans are and how everything went!

Take care friendly bloggers*

I'm Deaf.....It's contagious!!

Whatsup ya'll!

Sorry, i been kinda slack with regards to blog updates but at the moment, this is the last thing on my mind.
Varsity's been so hectic with work and prac, however i'm starting to really enjoy the coarse. I know you should have started deciding whether or not the course is for you in like the first year, but let's just that i'm a little delayed:)Ido however still get my days, where i'm sitting on a fence and things would seem so much easier if i had to just pull out.

Moving on, i ended up at a children's school for the deaf. The school is positioned the other side of Bothas hill. Usually the varsity would provide lifts because we never know where half the places were. I do however think i will resort to taking my own car considering i had to drive to Westville, back, through Botha's Hill, back too Westville again and then baack to Kloof.
Wow, i'm not even going to explain to you how different it is being in the actual environment.
As much as i'd love to tell you what i did on the visit, it's a little complicated and boring if i had to even make an attempt! Anyway, a lot of it was interacting with the children and seeing how the classroom settings differed from that in other schools. These are children who are postlingually deaf (they only acquired language after they had access to hearing -such as a hearing aid). It is therefore difficult to communucate with them unless you had a fair knowledge of sign language. This module is only taken after the June holidays though. Well, i know the sign language alphabet so i managed to communicate a little with that and i appeared to get the messages through. on that note, it's amazing how well mannered tey were in comparison to children presenting with normal hearing. Everyone you walked past would smile and greet (either gestures or orally).

It facinates me to see how people respond or react to those who are either deaf or have a hearing problem. The hearing aid is suppose to aid one's hearing! Many people think that when an individual is wearing a hearing aid, they now cannot hear or the popular belief that they are cognitively impaired- which they are not (obviously there are exceptions). Well it's going to be interesting to see how the people of Kloof are going to respond, seeing me wear a hearing aid. many of my colleages have informed me that they cannot believe the reactionsthey get from others. The one girl took er hearing aid to the a1-Grand Prix and apparently she heard the girl say "She's lucky, she's deaf"
Another one was spoken to as if she was cognitively impaired. Will let you know of any remarks i get, if any:)

Anyway, yesterday i was assigned a hearing aid, of which i have to wear for a full week.
This provides us with a little exposure to the experiences of being deaf or 'hard of hearing'.
Man, it's so annoying! Something as small as the clanging of cutlery makes you want to whip the aid out of your ear!

Anyway.. swifting the topic a little. About eight loud bangs were what woke us up at 3:10am last night (Wednesday).
Eventually the whole neighborhood became an audience of these loud sounds!
Turns out, one of the neighbors from across the road was broken into and the owners actually caught the guy. Within 10minutes, the sirens were blazing through the streets.
I don't know the whole story but you craap yourself at the time. it almost sounded as if three consecutive shots went off, with a couple minutes wait and so went off again. So we picked up the phone, leaving lights off, dialing the cops to report the problem.
So apparently the male intruder failed at his attempts and was shot numerous times!

Which leads to....us getting a new puppy:)
My dad walks into the house, with a six week old Rotweiler puppy (excuse spelling)
So it looks like there's gonna be a lot more on my hands now!

Anyway... sorry this wasn't much of a constructive blog, but i'l definatley keep you updated!
For now im gonna run as i'm BUGGARD!

Cheers*
